Transversal flute, plaing, music, classic, tone, blow, mouth, air, lung, position, straight, lips, tongue.

For musicians who like air instruments, flutes can be a very nice option, they have many variesties, one of them is the transversal flute. The transversal flute for begginers can be a little bit difficult to play, but if you follow some steps you could master it easily. That's why I am going to introduce to you a little bit of how to play the transversal flute the proper way in order to obtain a good tone.

The transversal flute consist in 3 parts, the mouth, the body, and a final short section. For assemblance, you need to take each part individually, firmly, with your hands, taking care that you are not pressing the key to prevent damage. When inserting the parts, be sure to do it in circles, that way the metal doesn't damage. Once you are done be sure to check that they fit perfectly and they have been inserted completely.

Now you are ready to begin. Grab a chair and sit down as straight as possible, this way you can improve the flow of air inside your lungs. You can also do it standing up, standing straight aswell. Grab the flute and place the mouth of the flute aligned with yours, also notice that the flute must be completely parallel to the floor. Once you are in this position, press your mouth by the sides, and with your lower lip, cover half the mouth hole of the flute with it, without pressing. If done correctly, once you blow, you should listen to a clean note!

Playing the flute might take some practice, it depends whether how much experience the person has, and how you position your body. If you are having a hard time, do not give up, sooner or later you should be able to understand what the problem is and be able to correct it. Keep practicing and never give up!
